Speak secrets to the fields,

And listen carefully to the river’s response.

 

Follow her advice.
Follow the bramble and silt clad path.

 

Until you find yourself;
Basted in brine and beautiful beginnings.

 

Babbling your cares,

into the ocean air.

 

Pick up pebbles,

And launch them into the waves.

 

Watch the sea engulf a little piece of the land;

A piece that was briefly yours.

 

Feel yourself become part of something,

Something much bigger than man.

 

Seek solace in your insignificance,
As you look in the face of the world’s faucet.
